"When we are at our best, we can give our best."
my motivation
I’m often asked why I chose this field. The answer is very simple, it’s because of YOU! I am deeply motivated by the light that each one of you radiates, it’s in your smile, your laughter, and your eyes. There is a great power within each of us, but in order to ignite that power we must be in harmony with ourselves and the world around us. That is where beauty and wellness come together and balance begins.
My goal is to help others be, look, and feel their best; and when I can help anyone do this it brings me great satisfaction. True beauty lies within each of us, but only when we do the right things and live the right way does that beauty present itself to the world. I want to show you how you can discover your authentic beauty. Please join me on this awesome journey and discover beauty through balance!
my story
I have always had a passion for beauty that is more than skin deep. For me, it’s all about helping women find the perfect balance between feeling beautiful on the inside and looking beautiful on the outside. Did you know beauty actually means balance? When a woman feels beautiful she brings balance to her life, and that balance then causes her inner beauty to radiate outward.
My passion for beauty and wellness began before I was even aware of it. When I was in my early teens I would spend hours browsing magazine ads and books on makeup techniques and healthy skin. I was always trying the latest makeup trends and homemade face masks. I recall one ad in particular. It was the Jolly Green Giant ad for green beans in a Seventeen magazine. I can still see the girl’s face, healthy and glowing—she even had freckles like me! They were advertising how good green beans were for your skin because of how nutritious they are, and even though I hated green beans I still found the ad appealing.
Just like most women I went through a time where I struggled with how I looked, which had a direct effect on my self esteem. Even as a cheerleader in high school I never felt truly comfortable with myself. For me the change took place years later when I became an aerobic instructor and director. It was at this time that I also discovered my love for teaching, and as I worked every day to help others better themselves I also began to teach them that beauty is more than skin deep. I worked with far too women who fell into the trap of our media and culture and forgot who they are and the true beauty they possess.
My first experience in the beauty industry was as a nail technician educator. I went on to develop educational curriculum for beauty programs and was asked to be a guest speaker at various beauty schools and women’s functions. I started to truly fall in love with this industry—I had found my niche! I found nothing more rewarding than putting a set of nails on a woman and watching her transform. I once had a woman in her early 30′s start to cry. Of course my first thought was she did not like the nails. Then she said, with tears running down her cheeks, "This is the first time in my life I have felt feminine. How much do I owe you?" What could I say? You can’t put a price on an experience like that.
Since that time I have dedicated myself to helping women look and feel their best. In turn they go out into the world and give their best. I once heard someone say, "You can’t help a friend, or a stranger up the stairs if you can’t climb the stairs yourself." Whenever I speak at a cosmetology school I always have the students pat themselves on the back for choosing such a rewarding industry.
my purpose
It is my mission to help women of all ages to reach their goals in beauty and wellness and educate them so they can make the right choice for themselves. Over the years I have become extensively involved in the beauty industry and try my best to stay up to date on the latest information and resources; some would call me an expert, but I think of myself more as an experienced beauty mentor. In my travels I am blessed to meet many talented and influential people in a variety of fields who are willing to share their wealth of knowledge in order to help others. It is my strong desire to make the world a better place, one beautiful woman at a time. For me, it all comes down to education.
Knowledge is power and a truly beautiful woman knows the source of beauty is good health not vanity. Proper skin care and healthy makeup promote good health and are so important to helping you feel good inside. And then you will have the confidence that will make you beautiful outside.
